The mission of S2S is to encourage the flow of creative energy and to bring people who are kindred spirits together for collaborations. With that in mind, The Trouble Notes, Hashart, and a bunch of other amazing folks will all come together for “Notes from Underground” at one of our favorite venues – St.Georg.
Follow the sound that will lead you to the depths of St.GEORG. Instead of stumbling into Ritter Butzke take the stairs that lead you down to a cellar with raw walls, graffiti art and an edgy vibe, which will be the setting for “Notes from Underground” this Friday.
Not for the sake of wanting to be different, but because it is boring when same and same alike mingle, we are inviting you to an unusual collaboration – a collection of the finest tunes presented by musicians that have come together from the streets of New York City and Berlin.
Yes, you heard right! Your first encounter with the first two acts probably happened in the street. However, a stage suits them quite well too. Blues, funk hop and soul are the sources of inspiration for Those Guys Berlin, who will not only warm up the night but also make your tired limbs want to jiggle. Wynton Kelly Stevenson’s harmonica, experienced together with Leo’s psychedelic electric guitar sounds and fat drum beats of Val creates a truly novel sound.
From the streets of New York City to the international scene, The Trouble Notes continue to serenade the stages and streets of the world with an eclectic fusion of sounds from every corner of the musical spectrum.
The creative design company, HASHART, will be showcasing some of their new designs. In a digitized world, Hashart literally stands for #Art! All of the creative projects have a connection to art and design. But also everything they do has a digital reference and the #-sign is the epitome of a digital movement. The designers seek to express their analog design orientated background parallel with the digital connection.
Late night vinyl work is presented by FinowZoo, a music crew that features some of Berlin’s rising talents. FinowZoo is a collective of international artists and DJs sharing the same passion for electronic music.
Ji Soo majored in the clarinet and developed her artistic and musical sense, while soon encountering electronic music. The unique sound and beats inspired her to start her DJ career in Japan and lead to a move to Berlin.
Tina! Is a DJ project by Thoma and Hugo. Thoma first discovered the electronic music scene when he moved to Germany, where he started his huge collection of vinyl and it wasn’t until he moved to Berlin when he naturally started to play and mix those records together, turning the collecting process into a way of life.
Not only can you hear some great music on Friday but we are also asking you to pour out your own creativity with our “Facebook Photo Contest,” linking The Trouble Notes and Hashart in your best photo on The Trouble Notes’ Facebook Page. The best two photos will win a Hashart design t-shirt and signed copy of the The Trouble Notes’ first EP “Court the Storm.” Submission deadline is 10 p.m. on March 1st 2014.
